What is the relationship between biomass and composites?

From a composite standpoint, you have things like carbon fiber that is a very, very good material but is not cheap. People are looking for alternatives that are more competitive at a lower price point. Everybody is looking at where biomass can fit into their spectrum of products—not that carbon fiber will go away, but a new mix of materials. Companies (and consumers) are learning you don’t have to be all one thing or the other. For example, there is 60 percent CornBoard and only 40 percent wood being used in some of our skateboards. Yet we maintain some of the highest-quality skateboards in the entire industry. Change does not mean compromising anything. If everybody reduces the use of non-renewable resources a little bit, that resource will last longer.
