Wiesner adds that this is just one element of a fully-automated line that can help manufacturers make Industry 4.0 a reality. For European customers, such as one using the fully-automated line to produce floor panels for aircraft, this is a must to remain competitive, says Wiesner.

  • Trainable Robot for Spray Lay-Up: CAMX attendees gathered around the Composites One demonstration area to watch MVP demonstrate a new spray lay-up robot that can be taught without programming. First, the MVP representative held the robot’s “hands” and went through the motions of spraying a finishing coat on a part. After, the robot repeated the motions exactly. This simple technique eliminates complicated programming, making it “a robot for everyone,” says the rep. The teachable, automated sprayer is currently used to manufacture of boats, pools and other products.
