Carbon Nanotubes

Carbon nanotubes are cylindrical carbon molecules that are 50,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair and one tenth the weight of regular carbon fiber. They can be used to as the reinforcement in carbon nanotube (CNT) polymer composites. They exhibit extraordinary strength and unique electrical properties, and are efficient conductors of heat. Carbon nanotube-based polymer nanocomposites have been used to enhance electrical conductivity, energy conversion and storage.
