The car also comes with an optional Weissach package, which Porsche says reduces weight by nearly 40 pounds, further enhancing the vehicle dynamics of the 911 GT2 RS. The package includes magnesium wheels and numerous elements made of carbon fiber. For instance, with this optional package, the roof and anti-roll bars are made of carbon fiber, as are the end links on both axles.
Unlike the last 500-car run of the 2011 GT2 RS, there is no production limit for the new car. Porsche says the 911 GTS R2 will reach U.S. dealers in early 2018.
