The atmospheric satellites rely heavily on the use of composites – mainly fiberglass, DuPont Kevlar® and carbon fiber – in order to reduce the overall weight of the craft. Titan Aerospace has been developing two models of unmanned aerial vehicle, the Solara 50 and Solara 60, that are designed to stay aloft continuously for as long as 5 years.
