In recent news, the Obama administration announced a competition led by the Department of Energy (DOE) for an Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation Institute. The DOE will award $70 million over a span of five years. The goal for the institute is to approve upon the current manufacturing of FRP composites with a focus on production speeds, costs and overall performance.
