Italian designers and manufacturers Carboni e Metalli launched The Lunar Project motorbike in homage to the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, combining vintage details such as a steel frame and a 2-stroke engine, with carbon fiber composites and additively manufactured structural applications.
The idea for The Lunar Project motorbike came from a desire to use space-proven processes and advanced materials in a non-space product. Co-founder of Carboni e Metalli Massimo Bercella said of The Lunar Project, “In 1969, mankind first stepped on the Moon. Now, 50 years later, we wanted to pay homage to that historic achievement doing what we do best in the part of the world: combining unique materials and advanced technologies with old-time craftsmanship and passionate design.”
