HRC Group has delivered more than 100 composite and carbon fiber components to electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft builder XPeng HT Aero to lightweight the new X2 model. Parts delivered include components of the cockpit, seats, mechanical arm, and more.
The design and engineering teams at HRC worked with carbon fiber sheet molding compound for the management panel of the X2 and for the seat body. The team also worked to resolve issues with lamination and created components capable of a glossy finish to keep the vehicle looking sleek.
Special attention has been paid to structural components such as the AB pillar. By using both compression molding and autoclave treatment of the advanced materials, HRC is able to create the complicated parts with the strength and wall thickness needed to stand up to testing and provide a safe ride.
